The defending District 4 AA champion Red Tornadoes rode the coattails of two 1,000-yard rushers and a vicious, hard-hitting defensive unit to a 12-2 record and berth in the PIAA quarterfinals opposite Lancaster Catholic.
Sure, both 1,000-yard rushers, Meyrick Lamb and Cody Shustack, are gone, as are defensive leaders Shustack, Brett Prezkop, Tommy Hynoski and others, but there’s still a very solid nucleus back for head coach Carm DeFrancesco. It starts up front with Bobby Beierschmitt, Mike Scicchitano and Northwestern recruit Eric Joraskie (who might be moved to tight end in his senior season) along the offensive line. Zach Wasilewski assumed the reins of the MCA offense in Week 8 and finished with more than 700 yards passing. Joraskie was an All-State selection on defense, and he returns to anchor that unit.
