The Cougars could be one of the most explosive offensive units in District 1 this season, as three main offensive weapons return to Exton. QB Trey Lauletta (1,917 yards passing, 18 TD) averaged more than 150 passing yards per game last season, and Rutgers-bound TE Tyler Kroft (36 rec., 667 yards, 8 TD) was one of the main targets in the passing game. But perhaps the best running back in all of District 1, junior Drew Harris, is coming off of a phenomenal sophomore season. Harris ran for 2,010 yards and 30 touchdowns on 306 carries, and has received a boatload of interest from Division-1 football programs. Downingtown East averaged 32.9 points per game, and finished eight of its 13 games scoring 32+ points last year. The Cougars missed matching their school record for points scored in a season (454 points in 2005) by a mere 26 points. Senior DB Brandon Robles is also a potential Division-1 prospect.
