    1. @Santa: and so was every D1 coach I guess. let me ask you, did you ever see Caleb Kephart play? How about Shareef Blough? Ian Corbett? Eli Mencer? Without looking them up do you even know who they are? Let me clue you in, they didn’t have the stats Brag had but they’re every bit as good as he was if not better…and they did what they did against much tougher competition than what Brag played against. I bet you don’t know those names nor the teams for which they played without looking….see, the Big33 and E/W organizers know..they look at tons of film, talk to many many people before making their decisions. Where those players come from is only part of the equation. again, GET OVER IT, he didn’t get selected because others were better. This is in NO WAY to discount what Brags did…I’m just saying sometimes the numbers aren’t a true judge.

  1. Spain ,
Bragalone was not offered, i will say it again was not! I agree Glenn it is a complete joke. The fact is he ran all over a team that won the state title and didn’t lose a game. That team would of beat 99 percent of any team at any class in most states including ours. Bragalone had 350 on them and the truth is he would have 350 in the big 33 game if he got 25 touches. It is very hard for people to face the facts of his stats and 40 times and strength just because of where he is from. You all need to get over the fact of his geographical location and realize that he was the best back in the piaa hands down. Just because he can’t dance or spin a ball on his finger doesn’t mean he can’t play football.

  2. This game is supposed to be the top tier players in PA facing off against one another showcasing the talents that they possess. The same should be for coaches, but unfortunately, like many “All Star Games” that are held in different countys, as well as making the First Team All area list, it’s turned into a popularity contest, both for players AND coaches.

  3. @ Glenn,

Billy Splain makes a good point. Unfortunately, the general public is not made aware of what kids were asked to play, which ones said “No”, and what qualifications the Big33 organization looks for in a player. Nor do they disclose their reasons for inviting certain players over others. If they made this information more transperant, it would ease a lot of minds, including mine. I also don’t understand some of the choices, not that these kids don’t deserve to be there, just not so sure why some others were left out in the cold.

    @ Billy Splain,

I do have one question though about this roster update……maybe you can answer, maybe not…..why would they replace an RB with a WR? I did not think they were that deep at the RB position to begin with?

    1. @stoopie..that was a coaching choice. they probably couldn’t get another rb. This may come as a shock to people but kids DO turn down chances to play for many reasons…yes, even players that lead the nation turn down all star games….many times they have family plans, vacations and yes…their college coaches tell them they’d prefer it if they don’t play. As for the public, they don’t need to know squat. The people that arrange all star games work their asses off. All the public needs to do is trust them and go support and enjoy the game.

  4. They put a 172 pound RB on the team and left two time small school player of the year Dominick Bragalone off of it. All he did was lead the nation in rushing and score 70 TD. What a joke. He had his best games in the playoffs and dont give me this small school crap, Brumbach went to a small school. In fact, one year small school player of the year Jon Veach scored the game winner.
