Well, the fifth week of our fast moving football season has been completed. At this point in the season area teams begin to show interest in the playoff points chart. There are several teams that were not expected to challenge for the top playoff seeds that now look to be sure bets at the fastest payout online casinos come post season action. The District One AAAA top five finds Abington, Downingtown West, Unionville, Coatesville and Council Rock South leading the early count.

Many teams had to deal with a steady rain again last week but avoided the puddles long enough to get most games played as scheduled last Friday. The fifth week of the season was finally a successful one for this humble prognosticator. This writer’s record was an encouraging 4-1 as Springfield, Academy Park, Archbishop Wood and Abington won as predicted while Unionville’s hard fought win over Coatesville was the sole bad call for the week.

The last five years, this future teller has a 228-90 prognostication record while going 14-11 for this season.

This week finds another Central League showdown as the featured game to follow. The Garnet Valley Jaguars travel to meet the Ridley Green Raiders for a Thursday night showdown. This contest may well determine which of these two teams will qualify for post season action. The Jaguars and Green Raiders have one loss each in early season games. This contest offers several interesting contrasts as Garnet Valley pounded Harriton last Friday with a second half surge and a 76-38 win that certainly surprised many in the Central League. Ridley breezed to a 49-7 win over Radnor showing both offensive and defensive dominance. The key to this game may well turn on the special team success of Jaguar running back Kyle Keyser who scored three TD’s with two coming on kick returns. Ridley will most certainly not allow anywhere near 76 points and will ride power runner Jalen Randolph to a hard fought home win.

The Bonner Friars have shown some great promise this season behind Junior QB James Haley and running back Abraham Jaward.
