Where’s dunmore on that list we scored 447 on the year, which should put us in the top 25
The repercussions of football coaching philosophies and high scores. It never ceases to amaze me how so many people equate a teams worth by the amount of points that are scored in a game. Looking in to the coaching styles and the coach himself are probably a better barometer to see the true value of the team. Looking at the high scoring games that are now a common occurrence in almost all cases those coaches chose to run up the score against a much less qualified opponent. A true test of a coach is to be building for the next year instead if going for the high score. Let’s be realistic if you win by 1 point you are still the winner. It takes far less effort to constantly score with your best athletes than it does with your less qualified. From a spectators (my) point of view it is a far better game when you see the players are more evenly matched. For those coaches that put their younger or less qualified players in when they are ahead by 30 or more points I commend you. The standings would probably look a lot different if you chose to run up the score. In the end of it all usually the best prepared team on that given day wins the game. The question is how many coaches make it there with the right philosophy?
thank you larry, finally a true high school football fan who respects berwick even though your seals gave us a tough loss in week 5. i’m glad to see this rematch. this is going to be a great game. GO DAWGS!!!!!! THE SWAGGER OF BERWICK FOOTBALL IS BACK!!!
if i see correctly you got your rematch congrats. i wrote that out of anger more than anything because that seals fan didnt know jack about hazleton and the competition that we had to face in the playoffs. that bethelem freedom team had a line which would stack up against any NFL team (and probably would beat the detroit lions, then again anyone could). i canywait to see the highlights of that game because it seems to be a high potent offense of selingsgrove against the ferousous defense of berwick. i think berwick can win if its a defensive game. best of luck to you both though
Yes tony you are right but i don’t think the cougars would kill the seals they have a good team down there and i would like to see a rematch to good luck dawgs and seals
if hazleton would have played the seals we would have clubbed them. they are not even in the same league as hazleton. at least berwick gave the cougars a great game. if berwick plays the seals again (which may not happen anyway) they would club the seals as well. by the way the COUGARS ARE THE DISTRICT 2 champions again so get your facts straight. we lost to a freedom team from the bethelem area (who i think can go all the way) because they were bigger. also the reason why we give berwick fans a hard time is because we are suppose to. we have been doing it for decades and they have done the same. there is respect between the 2 teams even though we may not show it.
