Week 4 Preview: Delaware Valley (3-0) at West Scranton (2-1)
Scranton Memorial Stadium will be electric this Friday night when West Scranton hosts the Warriors of Delaware Valley. Joe Gerek’s Invader bunch are 2-1 after defeating Dunmore last weekend, 27-24. The Invaders jumped out to a 20-0 lead in the first quarter only to survive a Dunmore rally. DeVaughn Chollette rushed the ball 17 times for 96 yards and scored 2 touchdowns for West Scranton in the third game of the season.
The Invaders have been led by senior quarterback Tyler Hughes, who has been a versatile stud all year. Hughes has gained 460 yards on the ground (10.2 ypc) and threw for another 524 stripes through the air (52.8%).
For the visiting Warriors, they are led by sophomore quarterback Bryan Schor. He threw for 292 yards last Friday in a, 40-20, win over Hazleton. Schor has completed 32 of 53 (60.4%) for 626 yards and 5 scores this campaign. Bryan’s main target in the week three win was to Connor Decker. The tight end caught 4 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown. Delaware Valley enters the contest with a 3-0 record.
