Delaware Valley  jumped out to a 13-0 lead and it appeared as if the Warriors were going to cruise to the finish line. Not so fast, the Invaders would not be out done. In a most exciting second half of football, West Scranton outscored the Warriors by a count of 21-8.

Trailing in the fourth quarter 34-27, West Scranton’s quarterback Tyler Hughes connected with Malcolm Sweeting on a 68-yard strike to bring the Invaders within one point, 34-33. Instead of attempting an extra point kick, West Scranton relied in Sweeting to get them into the endzone for a two-point conversion. Tyler Hughes threw a screen pass to the right side of the field and Malcolm took care of the rest as Sweeting dove in for the two-points to give the Invaders a 35-34 lead. One last chance for Delaware Valley on fourth and three, the Warriors could not convert the first down as West Scranton outlasts the Valley, 35-34.

West handed Delaware Valley (3-1) their first loss of the season.  The Invaders (3-1) were led by the arm of Tyler Hughes, who completed 18 of 29 for 195 yards and 3 touchdowns. Running back Josh Shroeder accounted for 134 yards on 12 carries including West Scranton’s first score (50-yard run) of the game.

Delaware Valley got a monster night from Chris Cohen. The stud running back gained 240 yards on 42 carries. Cohen scored twice on the ground.
